My Story
Underwhelm.me was born from an overwhelming feeling of frustration when comparing products online. When making important purchasing decisions online I would manually build up detailed comparison tables in spreadsheets because platforms like Amazon lacked the depth needed for thorough comparisons. This process involved opening multiple tabs and painstakingly reading through each product description to discover features, prices and values - something which might sound familiar with some savvy shoppers.
Search engine recommendations have become a cluttered mix of adverts and sponsored content. Many of these link to products that are either out of stock or no longer available. AI-driven recommendations haven't solved this issue either - they typically pull from the same search engine results, which are still littered with ads and broken links. The result? A limited, frustrating shopping experience that feels like you're missing out on better options.
I've been coding since I was eight and working in programming, e-commerce and web dev ever since. When I found myself wasting hours trying to find the best products online, I built a tool to fix it.
